'Assault-frame' squads are armed with weapons geared towards close range, mounting an SMG and close combat blade forged with a hardened compound derived from Rift-science, which the soldiers take pride in mastering to a fearsome level of proficiency. These soldiers are lethal at close quarters, providing a much needed melee punch to Japanese forces.
